Having successfully over-clad the existing building on site,
C21 were awarded the contract to construct a new
storage, workshop and welfare facility
Since the existing site was already laid to concrete, we
quickly identified a cost saving scheme, using this surface
to build upon, rather than installing new. This represented
a substantial cost saving of over several thousand pounds.
The building perimeter was weather proofed using a cast
reinforced concrete upstand.
The client was anxious to complete the project quickly,
therefore a composite panel system was specified, to
maximize the construction speed.
The internal welfare facility consists of toilets, canteen,
showers and changing rooms, and is located within the
building fabric to maximize use of the building footprint.
The project presented a design challenge in that the rear
gable and side walls were “scewed” to make best use of
the space available on site. All steel work arrived to site
was pre-fabricated and was successfully installed without
alteration
